Cookies

With today being one of my last days home, I decided to spend some time in the kitchen. After making Lasagna in a crock pot and dinner rolls from scratch, I decided to make some chocolate chip cookies. After our impromptu dinner party, this is what we had left over!

Sunset Surprise

I couldn't figure what to take a picture of today. While Rush and I were playing basketball and watching the sunset, I looked down on the beach and found this little guy.

500 Days of Summer

I saw a preview of this movie and thought it looked interesting. It finally arrived from Netflix, and I definitely enjoyed it!

Palm Tree

Another picture from what I consider our front yard.

Peanut Butter Blossoms

I haven't been in the kitchen for awhile so I thought I would have some fun today. Hopefully Rush enjoys them when he gets home!

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 40 miniature chocolate covered peanut butter cups, unwrapped

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Sift together the flour, salt and baking soda; set aside.
  3. Cream together the butter, sugar, peanut butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Beat in the egg, vanilla and milk. Add the flour mixture; mix well.
  4. Shape into 40 balls and place each into an ungreased mini muffin pan.
  5. Bake at 375 degrees for about 8 minutes. Remove from oven and immediately press a mini peanut butter cup into each ball. Cool and carefully remove from pan.

Wedding Day

Burt and Laura's Wedding...Coming soon

Here are a few pictures I took before the wedding. The same butterfly was hanging around today. At least I think it is the same one :)

A New Home ??

Rush and I have been thinking about buying a house in Hawaii. Good idea, right? We finally looked at a place and this is it. It definitely needs a lot of work, but has a lot of potential.

The Bike

Finally a picture of my bike! This was my Birthday present from Rush last year and I am loving it! I'm not allowed to go very far (only up and down our street), but I have fun doing that.  Every now and then, Rush will come out on the beach cruiser to race. I'll let you guess who wins!

Another day at the Burtrigger

Everyone loves Holidays! Rush and I had the day off and enjoyed lots of time at the Burtrigger. The surf was great and the BurtBQ was even better!

Knitting Time

Rush's mom is an amazing knitter.  On her first visit here, Sherry taught me how to start making socks. After taking a little break I've decided to start back up. This is a sock that I'm trying to finish...I have a long way to go!

Sunset and Basketball

This is how we play basketball in Hawaii! The beautiful sunset was followed a by a game of Horse. Of course Rush won, but I still had fun.

A walk through the yard

I don't have many days off to actually take pictures during the day so I took advantage of today. While Rush was inside playing Super Mario Brothers, I decided to take a walk through the yard and take a few pictures. The hibiscus plant was in full bloom and our papaya trees are growing like crazy! I think being in the compost pile helps.

Hanging Guitars

This is Rush's favorite part of the house. Most nights after work, Rush serenades me with music :) Being a member of Jack's Brother Band requires a lot of practicing!

Home Sweet Home

After a long day with layovers and headwinds, we made it home. The weather was definitely nicer and the sunset was beautiful. The days are slowly starting to get longer which only means one thing...more time in the water!

Hello Minnesota

I had hoped to have more artistic photos, but I'll take what I can get! Our travel day has been busy. We left Baltimore this morning, stopped in Minnesota and we are currently in Seattle. We are almost home to Hawaii and we can't wait!

I always think it's funny when Rush's glasses fog up so I had to get a picture. After this picture, I decided to draw on his glasses, but he didn't like that too much!

The Stolen Onesie

After complaining so much last night about wanting one, Kenny let Rush borrow the onesie for a few minutes. Too bad Rush didn't follow Kenny's professional courtesy request! Sorry Kenny!

Bethany Blues and Onesies

Our trip to Dover has been great. Tonight we had dinner with Leks, Hannah and Kenny at Bethany Blues. Fun people and good BBQ.

After dinner, it was time to head back home to hang with Kenny and Hannah. While Rush and I were playing Wii, they came down to show us their new PJ's. Rush was really jealous and can't wait to get a onesie. I have started the search!

Welcome to The Weeners

We're in Delaware! Coming to visit Hannah and Kenny is one of my favorite things! There is never a dull moment and things are always happy here. After Burger Night, Hannah was kind enough to give Rush a ride in Evan's new wagon. If it can hold Rush, we know it will be good for Evan. I hope Evan enjoys it as much as Rush did!

Christmas in Pocomoke

It's Christmas in Pocomoke City, Maryland! Rush and I enjoyed opening up presents at mom's house after looking at tons of pictures of me growing up. After Rush finished laughing, he played me some piano for me to enjoy :)

Fortune for the Day

I think Fortune Cookies are best part of Chinese Food. Although Chicken Lettuce Wraps are a close second! We have one more night in Oklahoma and then we are off to Maryland...I can only hope it is a little warmer. Too bad that warmer weather isn't in my fortune for the day.

Be Aloha

We finally made it to Tulsa only to wake up to the ground covered in snow. We are loving our new Patagonia Gear more and more everyday we are here! We find it freezing here, but Roby (Rush's Cousin) thinks shorts are okay!

We love sharing the Aloha Spirit and especially enjoy going to other houses that enjoy it as much as much as we do...Thanks Liz and Dan!

C-17 Trip

We are headed back to the Mainland! Here is a picture of the C-17 we flew back to Oklahoma City. We are spending a few days with Rush's parents and then we are off to the East Coast...brrrrrrr! You can see Rush sleeping on the left side of the picture!
